Ty Huitt - Pastor

Ty followed the Lord’s leading to FBC Stuttgart and began serving as pastor in August 2025. A native of Hermitage, Arkansas, he has served as a youth pastor in Mississippi, 6 years as pastor of First Baptist, Almyra and almost 16 years as pastor of Lake Ouachita Baptist Church between Hot Springs and Mount Ida in the western part of the state. Ty holds a business administration degree from Arkansas State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is married to the former Leah Short, a Stuttgart native who grew up at FBC Stuttgart. Together they have four children, Gracia, Ethan, Nathaniel, and Hannah. Ty’s hobbies include following the Razorbacks, hunting deer, looking at trees and training competitive forestry teams for 4-H and FFA.

Ty still has not gotten over the fact that God would save a self-righteous sinner like him and is thankful for the faithfulness of the Lord through the journey of life. He enjoys preaching and teaching God’s Word and seeing people learn to authentically walk by faith and not by the sight of their own understanding.
